First post, here we go!
Hi, my name is…..Kari. Like the name of my blog, I am a Type A Mama trying to navigate my way through this thing called life.
My day job is that of a Management Consultant, doing program and project management for the Media and Entertainment industry (cue the ZzzZZzz). My side job is running a small online business called KHAntemporary KIDS where I sell “punny” tees and tanks for kids and adults. My 24/7 job is being a mama to 2 wonderful (most of the time) girls and a wife to 1 awesome (again, most of the time) husband.
Becoming a mother twice over has been one of the biggest blessings in my life but it has definitely been and continues to be an uphill battle. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs and writing has been my coping mechanism for whenever I’m feeling sad, angry, frustrated or stressed. Just ask my husband, he’s been the recipient of many angry and frustrated texts/emails throughout the years!
I wouldn’t categorize my blog as your typical “lifestyle” blog. My fashion sense is meh, my beauty routine is non-existent, I’m not a foodie, I don’t cook, and traveling is not my thing (I have a fear of planes, trains, boats, buses). What you will find here are my personal stories (often injected with sarcasm, musical references, lots of parentheses ((())) and a few expletives~!*) of my trials and tribulations as a Type A Mama….then some sprinkles of food, fashion, fun and other randomness… (was that a run on sentence?)
I started blogging awhile ago with Blogger but stopped out of pure laziness after the iOS app stopped working on my phone. I’ve been wanting to start my Type A Mama blog since the beginning of this year but had a difficult time getting past the fear of being judged and crucified by others who unlike me, have their sh*t together and are just plain awesome. But, since we now live in a world where everyone has a voice and can easily get access to a WordPress account, I thought I’d give it a shot and take the plunge!
My hope is that there are other mamas like me out there somewhere and that we can connect and share our experiences. Hope you enjoy what you read. If this isn’t your cup of tea, thanks for stopping by and kindly click the X button at the top right corner.
